Svizra27 is organised as an association and is comprised of business and trade associations from the five cantons of Northwestern Switzerland, three of Switzerland’s national business and trade organisations, and social partners on the cantonal and national levels.
The idea to launch a bid for a national exhibition in Northwestern Switzerland was born in 2015. After the failure of the national exhibition project in Eastern Switzerland, Kurt Schmid, a businessman and the President of the Aargau Trade Association, decided to form a core team and launch the Svizra27 project.
Svizra27 pursues the vision of hosting a major national exhibition in Northwestern Switzerland (the cantons of Aargau, Basel-Landschaft, Basel-Stadt, Jura and Solothurn) that brings people together and creates a sense of identity.
